Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
You’re Sony ambassadors, Do i have to bring a Sony camera?
No! Feel free to bring whatever camera you choose. The more familiar you are with your camera, the better results you’ll get.
What skill level is required to attend?
All photography levels are welcome, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro.
What fitness level is expected?
Moderate. We won’t be doing any rigorous hikes, but the hikes we have planned are between 3-6 miles. The highest point we’ll be hiking to is around 7200 feet (2200 meters).
What is the age range of the group?
All ages are welcome! We typically have a variety of ages, but we’ve had participants ranging from their teens all the way through their 80s.
Is this going to be the most fun I've ever had?
Yes. It's very likely you'll never recover, and may struggle to attain this level of happiness ever again. Life will be bleak after this workshop and you'll be craving the next opportunity to hang out with Nate and Autumn in the wild. Fret not, little one, more workshops are around the corner!
Where should I book lodging?
We recommend booking your stay at one of the hotels at the base of Crystal Mountain, which is the closest we can get to Mt. Rainier (about 45 minutes). Please reach out to us via the form at the bottom of this page if you have more questions.
What is the food like?
We’ll hop around to a few different restaurants but expect mostly American-style food. The restaurant near our hotel serves great American-European food. The menu changes seasonally and is inspired by local ingredients. You’ll find pasta, salads, and steaks along with their signature Hungarian Goulash, Wiener Schnitzel, and Fennel Sausage Pasta. If you have any food restrictions and/or allergies, please let us know ahead of time.
How cold will it be?
Temperatures will be seasonable, so come prepared for potential cold/rainy weather but expect warm days and seasonably cool nights. One thing to note is that even though our trip is in July, Mt. Rainier creates its own weather. As the sun goes down, it will get quite chilly, so please bring layers. Also, once we get to our shooting destinations we’re going to be spending a lot of time standing outside, and that tends to make it feel significantly colder than it actually is.
